77 COMMUNITIES is an interactive mural featured in Chicago’s wndr museum. I designed and painted the mural in September 2019.
A system of buttons and lights, designed by Kyle Mayer, illuminate the neighborhoods. The more a neighborhood is pressed, the brighter and faster the lights will blink.
Each of the 77 Community areas is illustrated with references to its history, landmarks, prominent symbols, or even puns on the names.
